Remember, electronic appliance, particularly PCs and Consoles are dust magnet.
Most of the times, the dust is blown away during refurb, but I've seen my fair share of PCs sent back with dust, cat hair, etc. Basically, some company simply replace the drive with another one with O.S. pre-installed, do a quick check, and send back. Not exactly good for people with allergy and quite often fans will fail later on.

It's not even sure the 360 hardware is at a break even point yet. Even if it is, we would be talking one of the lowest profit margin ever on any electronic product.
It would only happen after about 5 years, but even then, having multiple manufacturer would mean price war, and sure enough, still low profit margin.

The question is truly, what is the NATIVE resolution of your TV. There's some tv that support 1080p, but the native resolution of the TV is truly around 1280X720. They accept the 2 million pixels found in 1080i and 1080p signals, and simply drop half the pixels to display it on the display at it's lower native resolution. 1080p means 1920X1080 progressive. Over 2 millions pixels showed on screen at the same time.

Both Microsoft and Sony wrap bills around their consoles in the first few years, this generation and the previous one. It's about the only item you can buy, that cost more to make than what you're paying for. How cool is that. Business willing to gamble billions and we, the players save money on our consoles.
Luckily for us, they can afford it. Otherwise we could kiss our consoles goodbye.
Then no point buying a 360 if all the games are coming to the PC! They are usually much cheaper on the PC, so if you buy 5 to 10 games a year, you will save money in the long run, and be able to do way more things on a PC than a 360...

You're really wondering why isn't Microsoft allowing it. It's not like you could reprogram the whole console inside out. Are they scared that some mods would overheat the console?
Perfect description. People who didn't like Motorstorm didn't really try it. This reviewer described M1 very well, so if he is happy with Motorstorm 2, then I know I will be happy.
I'm not even sure yet if I will buy Resistance 2 (ok, I'm not a huge shooter fan), for sure enough, Motorstorm 2 is a day one purchase for me. And yes, I may even take a few day off to enjoy it, which, for me, says a lot.
Only problem with it was too much hype. It's a decent shooter with some pretty good twists. Not the best, but not the worst. What's amazing if the fact that in that MSN site, they finish the article by saying it was average. Now, with the hype going, people were expecting more, but saying an average game is a letdown? I don't think so. For me a letdown is a game I pay $60 and play only a few hours. If I get my money worth out of a game, I cannot be disapointed.
If a bluray is added, it will be like the HD-DVD was, simply an addon.
What we will see at E3 is simply a decent slash in price for the actual SKUs, but also a new sku with an even bigger harddrive. They can drop the price on the cheapest unit, and phase some of them out so it doesn't matter.

The same GPU in a pc, can do way more than 1920X1080 at 60fps. (Shoot, it can go as high as 2560x1600)
Now, why would the SAME GPU, in a PS3 not be able to do it!!!! Even if you would put a 8800 GPU in it, it would just be more overkill since the PS3 will never display more than 1920X1080 at 60fps.

If any fans were waiting for MSG to buy a PS3, then for sure they will jump on the gun metal PS3. So I expect a small surge for about two weeks.
If they go for FBOTW, then they should keep the list obvious somewhere. There's thousands of fanboy here, but some would deserve FBOTY or even FBOTM for all the time they spend arguing about their favorite console here before literally unknown fanboys.
